These are popular inside micrometers due to their light weight, ease of use, and wide range. They're ideal for measuring inside diameters of cylinders and rings, parallel surfaces, and more. The desired range is achieved by attaching rods and spacing collars to the micrometer head. Measuring rods have a shoulder that fits precisely into the micrometer head and locks into place. When attaching rods to the A and B heads, align the reading line on the micrometer head with the marking on each rod (except for the 2-3" and 50-75mm rods). Rod diameters are approximately 1/4" (6mm) for A and B sizes, and approximately 11/32" (8.5mm) for the C size. Each rod has individual length adjustment for the anvil using provided wrenches.
