Gear oil for GL-5 SAE 80W-140 synthetic gear lube protects and extends the service life of a wide variety of enclosed industrial gearing, including spur, bevel, herringbone and many worm gears. Gear oils should be changed more frequently when operating vehicles or equipment in dusty, wet or dirty conditions unless the gear system is properly sealed and equipped with membrane type breathers. GL-5 fully synthetic, extreme pressure gear lubricant is designed for severe on- and off-highway applications. The foam inhibitors ensure protection in conditions that favor lubricant foaming and consequently metal-to-metal contact and wear. The shear stability also helps prevent metal-to-metal contact and wear in high-temperature operations.
